The Complication is a refined fusion of heritage and innovation. At its heart is a modified mecha-quartz chronograph movement, uniquely adapted to include a luminous moon phase at 12 o’clock. The dial showcases a trio of textures: guilloché at the centre, radial brushing, and recessed sunburst sub-dials, capturing depth and reflecting light from all angles. A combination of brushed and polished finishes flows across the sculpted horn lugs and case, all crafted from a single solid piece, a detail that reflects both visual refinement and structural precision.

A unique feature unseen in hybrid chronographs, the moon phase complication brings a poetic layer to precision. Creatively adapted from the VK63 movement’s 31-day register, it transforms a functional date window into a visually captivating display. Enhanced with Japanese Super-LumiNova®, the moon phase glows softly in low light, adding both utility and allure. Purposeful and innovative, it reflects the layered thinking and design ambition behind The Complication.

A symphony of textures brings the dial to life, Guilloché patterns add timeless intricacy, radial brushing offers a sense of precision and depth, while the sunburst finish infuses the dial with dynamic energy. Set across a two-layer construction with recessed subdials, the composition adds tangible dimension and architectural depth, creating a rich surface that shifts character beautifully with every play of light. Japanese Super-LumiNova®, trusted by the world’s finest watchmakers, is thoughtfully applied to the moon phase complication and hands, ensuring clear legibility in low light without compromising the watch’s refined aesthetic. The curved strap reflects both ergonomic intent and aesthetic continuity. Expertly integrated into the case, it enhances the watch’s sculptural profile while providing a secure, tailored fit on the wrist.

Sharp and sculpted, the iconic horn lugs are finished with a combination of brushing and polishing, creating a refined contrast across the case. Achieving this dual finish while maintaining the lugs and case as a single, seamless piece posed a true technical challenge, requiring precision in manufacturing. The result is an elegant interplay of surfaces that catches the light beautifully, adding depth, refinement, and the structural integrity of a single solid form.

Every index is applied by hand, giving the dial dimensionality and elegance. Most distinctively, the custom typeface is inspired by the World Time Clock situated opposite the original Swan & Edgar store at Piccadilly Circus, reflecting the brand’s London heritage. A quiet but powerful tribute.
